The GOoD Life - Finding Forgiveness (Greg)
Tuesday Mar 13, 2012
Tuesday Mar 13, 2012
The Good Life. You may wonder what it is, but one thing is for sure, it depends on how our relationships are doing. If you're rich - but lonely - you're miserable. If you're at the top of your field, everyone's go to person - but your kid/parent/ partner won't talk to you - you feel like you're at the bottom of life. We need relationships to work, but so often they don't, and the linchpin is often forgiveness. Yeah, forgiveness. We don't get it. We think it's this unrealistic something we give someone who doesn't deserve it. Actually it is one of the universe's most powerful forces and the least understood currency in the Good Life's economy.

The GOoD Life - Turning Around (Dawn)
Monday Mar 05, 2012
Monday Mar 05, 2012
We all have a sense of the Good Life, and around the first of the year we often reflect on what it could be in our lives. We make a plan, we re-prioritize, and we set out with determination to finally start living it. That usually carries us to around the second week of January when the eggnog wears off and reality sets in. But what if the struggle to change direction in our lives stems from a much deeper struggle with our (often wimpy!) understanding of God and the word 'repentance'? Unless your life is on a perfect course, this is a Sunday you won't want to miss!

The GOoD Life - Taking your Pulse (Greg)
Sunday Feb 26, 2012
Sunday Feb 26, 2012
Great music weaves around a central theme. Great stories build their plot around one idea. Great lives will one thing that guides its various strands of experience. What about your life? How do you decide what you will do and who you will be? The Good Life doesn't just make something up or accept what society hands it, it knows what is planted mostly deeply in its heart. A planting that God seeded and waters and loves. Join us as we learn how to find that one thing and how it can create clarity in the messiness of life.

Holy Gibberish: Isaiah 62 (Dawn)
Monday Feb 13, 2012
Monday Feb 13, 2012
Politics are in full force these days and it seems like name-calling has become part and parcel with the process. I'd hate to think what some of the names would be if we lived back in the time of the prophet Isaiah who named his sons 'A-Remnant-Shall-Return' and 'Spoil-Quickly-Plunder-Speedily'! Pretty much walking billboards among the people with a message from God embedded in their very identity. Come next Sunday as we take name-calling to a new level and dig into Isaiah Chapter 62 where you'll find that some of the name-calling has even been powerfully directed at you!

Holy Gibberish: Isaiah 55 (Greg)
Monday Feb 06, 2012
Monday Feb 06, 2012
As a community we have some big changes happening right now. Both of our sites are transitioning to meeting at one location and we are exploring a possible new home for that one location. We also have Nate Bergengren moving on to a new position with Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park. Those changes take a toll on us. Isaiah spoke to Israel at a time of even greater transition. As he walked with them he reminded them of realities that were upon them, but held up the promises that awaited them and pointed them in the direction that could get them there. We have the same needs today. Isaiah chapter 55 is an example of how God does does this. As we go through these changes these next couple of weeks we'll let this chapter lead the way.

Holy Gibberish: Isaiah 28-30 (Dawn)
Monday Jan 16, 2012
Monday Jan 16, 2012
Isaiah 28-30 (Longfellow 1/8 | Field 1/15) - If the Bible reads like gibberish, half the battle for making sense out of nonsense is to get a handle on some key concepts that underlie the whole thing. On Sunday, I hope to tackle some of those ideas that will make a lot of other things make a whole lot more sense! We'll also be wrestling with one of the most challenging understandings about the God we meet in the Old Testament, and especially in the prophets. Spoiler alert: judgment. Be there...or be judged! (Ok, not really. Just come!)

Holy Gibberish: Isaiah 1 (Greg)
Sunday Jan 08, 2012
Sunday Jan 08, 2012
We are focusing on one big and important book of the Bible, Isaiah. Listen each week and learn what God was doing with the people of Israel during this tumultuous time when Isaiah was a prophet and what it has to do with us.
Isaiah 1 (Field 1/8 | Longfellow 1/15) - One way to turn the gibberish of the Bible into something worth knowing is to get a handle on one book. Especially a book like Isaiah. Greg will take you so deep into the first chapter that you'll not only see Isaiah and the people he was talking to 2700 years ago, but you'll see yourself!

Prove It: Do It Big (Dawn @ Field)
Thursday Dec 22, 2011
Thursday Dec 22, 2011
The Bible tells us the point of Jesus was that God loved the wholeworld. That’s everyone. Part of making Jesus real is to think big and reach far. It might be inconvenient and require some sacrifice, but stretch your arms out like Jesus did to make a difference in someone’s life you don’t know and watch God get real.
