Get Through or Get To: Share (Greg)

“Tell others what you have discovered” So why does anyone learn anything? To use it, and to pass it on. That’s it. In every aspect of life we stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us. We build on what others have done and told us. When we don’t pass it on, every person and generation has to figure everything out all over. That’s not growth. What have you discovered from God? How have your heart, your world view, your hopes and dreams been shaped by God, and how do you pass those on? Big questions, huge possibilities.

Now that we've spent some time thinking about how we have a 'Get to' life by examining our lives and learning from God daily, we know a lot. Is it enough to know, or is there more? How do we move from knowing to doing?  What happens when we actuallyApply what we learn? We know that God has soaked us with love and wants to make us whole. Now what? We know God loves us so let's explore how we 'Get to'  share that love with others in radical ways that make an impact.

Get Through or Get To: Learn From God Daily (Greg)

It wasn't always terribly convenient, but Kris and I cooked balanced meals and fed our kids every day while they were growing up. We knew we needed to so they could grow up and be healthy. Spiritual health needs a similar diet. No junk food, just good, regular meals. We need to learn from God daily. How's that going for you? Next week we're going to try something special and not just talk about, but try it out.

Get Through or Get To: Examine (Greg)

Banks tell us that along with ATM's Americans love their ability to check the balance of their accounts online. The reason is clear, they want to know where they stand so they can pay a bill or buy something. The need to check our 'life account' is no less important, but we don't do it nearly as often. Consequently we don't know where we stand in terms of what life is really about. What if you knew how to examine your life regularly and it wasn't a guilt thing, but just really good information that helped you move ahead? Let's take a look.

Summer To Fall (Greg)

We are crossing the threshold of fall! Our kids (or we) are back in school. Vacation plans are generally behind, not before us *sigh*. For the most part routines are kicking back in. Jacob's Well wants to welcome you into that routine, but we're not going to let it be the same old same old. With MEGABAND II setting the pace we'll be celebrating what's next: Not an 'I gotta get through it' life, but an 'I get to do it' life.

Godflix: The Tree of Life (Andy)

The Tree of Life is a mega award gathering experimental film that has delighted and frustrated audiences. Like life (and unlike most movies) everything in this movie is not lined up neatly in a row with a bow tied at the end. It's themes of relationships, loss, faith and life are woven in ways that makes us figure out what it all means... if  anything. Join us Wednesday evening to preview the film and be here next Sunday, whether you've seen it or not, as Andy Jolivette leads us from the Tree to life.
