Get Through or Get To: Examine (Greg)
Wednesday Sep 19, 2012

Banks tell us that along with ATM's Americans love their ability to check the balance of their accounts online. The reason is clear, they want to know where they stand so they can pay a bill or buy something. The need to check our 'life account' is no less important, but we don't do it nearly as often. Consequently we don't know where we stand in terms of what life is really about. What if you knew how to examine your life regularly and it wasn't a guilt thing, but just really good information that helped you move ahead? Let's take a look.

Summer To Fall (Greg)
Tuesday Sep 11, 2012
Tuesday Sep 11, 2012
We are crossing the threshold of fall! Our kids (or we) are back in school. Vacation plans are generally behind, not before us *sigh*. For the most part routines are kicking back in. Jacob's Well wants to welcome you into that routine, but we're not going to let it be the same old same old. With MEGABAND II setting the pace we'll be celebrating what's next: Not an 'I gotta get through it' life, but an 'I get to do it' life.

Godflix: The Tree of Life (Andy)
Monday Aug 20, 2012
Monday Aug 20, 2012
The Tree of Life is a mega award gathering experimental film that has delighted and frustrated audiences. Like life (and unlike most movies) everything in this movie is not lined up neatly in a row with a bow tied at the end. It's themes of relationships, loss, faith and life are woven in ways that makes us figure out what it all means... if anything. Join us Wednesday evening to preview the film and be here next Sunday, whether you've seen it or not, as Andy Jolivette leads us from the Tree to life.

Godflix: The Adjustment Bureau (Jeremy)
Monday Aug 13, 2012
Monday Aug 13, 2012
Does everything happen for a reason, or is life just a random series of chance events? Is there such a thing as destiny or free will? Do we really have a choice? The Adjustment Bureau keeps everything going according to plan. Their plan. Let's see what's behind the door, and what God might be telling us about Life through this movie.

Godflix: Moneyball (Greg)
Monday Aug 06, 2012
Monday Aug 06, 2012
In 2002 Billy Beane, general manager of the Oakland A's, was faced with a seemingly impossible situation - assembling a winning team with the smallest budget in Major League Baseball while his good players were cherry picked by wealthier teams. Beane did the unthinkable... he defied conventional wisdom about how to play the game. What game are you losing at by playing by the 'rules'? What needs re-imagining in your life? Moneyballis about more than baseball. Let's see what God is telling us through this film.

Judged! (Greg)
Tuesday Jul 31, 2012
Tuesday Jul 31, 2012
You've felt it, you've done it, you've heard that God does it. Judging. Right, wrong, good, bad - is this really how it all works? Is there another way? And what happens when we don't judge? It's nice to be nice, but do you get anywhere that way? These are more than rhetorical questions, they are choices we make every day and it is about time to end the confusion.

It Is Good (Andy)
Wednesday Jul 25, 2012
Wednesday Jul 25, 2012
Starting in the very first book of the Bible we read about God creating all that fills the earth and noting that "it is good," yet somewhere along the way it became far too easy for us to notice the bad in our world, whether we'd use the adjective to modify news, people or even the vague term stuff. There's so much proof of God's beauty and creativity beyond all the evil and ugly things we too often notice, plus it's no fun to live life dwelling on bad news/people/stuff. It's time to refocus our attention on the world as God created it and remember thatit. is. good.

What Christians Look Like (Greg)
Monday Jul 16, 2012
Monday Jul 16, 2012
Last Sunday Terry talked about what Jesus looks like, this Sunday we'll talk about what we look like. Two sides of the same coin. There's an image out there that 'Christians' are supposed to look, talk, act, believe a certain way - and most of us yawn and say, "Not interested." But following Jesus matters, so here's a week to discover what is interesting, and why the "unity or diversity" choice was never God's ultimatum in the first place.
