Giving Thanks
Tuesday Nov 20, 2012
Tuesday Nov 20, 2012
What are you doing this Thanksgiving? One thing might be to join us to give thanks. Next Sunday we will pause before we all dive headlong into the Thanksgiving/Christmas maelstrom so we can get the holidays off on the right foot. And while we're getting this gratitude thing straight, we'll celebrate a couple baptisms. That's worth giving thanks for too! So before you start the holiday season, stop...

Broke: Doing it Right (Greg)
Wednesday Nov 14, 2012
Wednesday Nov 14, 2012
It's easy to be broke, but God doesn't want you to be. What God wants broke is the grip your money has on you. God never intended anyone's wealth and resources to be chains. God wants them to be blessings. Once you've broken those old chains and got your budget and debt under control it is time to focus on the positive task, the fun part: what all that money was there for in the first place! Just think about it, money that doesn't take you down, but to a whole new level! Broke: Getting Control Back (Melissa)
Tuesday Nov 06, 2012
Tuesday Nov 06, 2012
Does it seem like all you've been hearing about lately is the economy...the national budget, our state's budget, your own budget? Do you ever want to turn off all the noise? The belief that we don't have enough money controls much of the conversation, and too often much of our lives. We will talk about how a budget can help us reshape the conversation so we can budget with a focus on gratitude for the abundance we have. Broke: Breaking the Grip (Greg)
Monday Oct 29, 2012
Monday Oct 29, 2012
Time to talk about fixing what's broke. So how do you go about Breaking the Grip that money and stuff have on your life, and still function as a real person in a real world? It starts by knowing the score, realizing the deal you've got isn't in your favor and that you are more, in God's eyes, than a consumer. You'll be amazed. And then you'll be ready to put unbroken pieces back together. Broke: What's Broke? (Greg)
Tuesday Oct 23, 2012
Tuesday Oct 23, 2012
Money's Grip on You: Not many people couldn't find a way to spend their whole year's salary in one week if they had the option. Not many people would be much happier if did. Life isn't about the money, but somehow we keep living as if it were. So before you go broke, it's time to break the grip of money on your life. As we move on in to fall and all the decisions and commitments we make during it, and before the Christmas madness sets in, we're going to take time to look at how money can serve us instead of control us. It's God stuff, in a lot of ways. Get Through or Get To: Share (Greg)
Tuesday Oct 16, 2012
Tuesday Oct 16, 2012
“Tell others what you have discovered” So why does anyone learn anything? To use it, and to pass it on. That’s it. In every aspect of life we stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us. We build on what others have done and told us. When we don’t pass it on, every person and generation has to figure everything out all over. That’s not growth. What have you discovered from God? How have your heart, your world view, your hopes and dreams been shaped by God, and how do you pass those on? Big questions, huge possibilities.

Get Through or Get To: Apply What You Learn (Melissa)
Sunday Sep 30, 2012
Sunday Sep 30, 2012
Now that we've spent some time thinking about how we have a 'Get to' life by examining our lives and learning from God daily, we know a lot. Is it enough to know, or is there more? How do we move from knowing to doing? What happens when we actuallyApply what we learn? We know that God has soaked us with love and wants to make us whole. Now what? We know God loves us so let's explore how we 'Get to' share that love with others in radical ways that make an impact.

Get Through or Get To: Learn From God Daily (Greg)
Sunday Sep 23, 2012
Sunday Sep 23, 2012
It wasn't always terribly convenient, but Kris and I cooked balanced meals and fed our kids every day while they were growing up. We knew we needed to so they could grow up and be healthy. Spiritual health needs a similar diet. No junk food, just good, regular meals. We need to learn from God daily. How's that going for you? Next week we're going to try something special and not just talk about, but try it out.
