May 18 Quench4 - A Spring of Water Gushing Up Within You of Endless Life
Monday May 19, 2014
Monday May 19, 2014
A spring of water gushing up within you of endless life. This audacious saying of Jesus isn’t referring to global water supplies, but something in us that can be different than it normally is; some thirst quenched, ache relieved, dying reborn. While we seek to deal with real water issues in the world around us, we can’t neglect the spiritual water issues within us. After all, it takes more than the right external conditions to make life fully meaningful; there are conditions within that also need our attention. Let’s talk (and grow!)

To be perfectly honest, the water situation isn’t good. But, we are people of hope. We are also people who know hope isn’t a plan. We have hope because we are willing to do what it takes to have the big picture and discover our part in keeping water and humanity healthy. On May 11 we welcome a real water expert join us in our conversation about this wonderful and necessary gift; water. There is much to learn so we can love this planet like God does!

Easter April 20, 2014 “This Might Not Work”
Sunday Apr 27, 2014
Sunday Apr 27, 2014
This was the message from Easter Sunday by Pastor Greg Meyer. In Jesus, God too lived by faith. He wasn't playing games or acting out some grand drama, God was desperately, hopefully, courageously and confidently loving us. We are called to do the same. To live by faith even though we know that not everything we do will 'work.'

April 27 Quench 1 - Never be thirsty again?
Sunday Apr 27, 2014
Sunday Apr 27, 2014
Last week for Easter we looked at God’s “This might not work!” perspective of doing whatever it takes to bring life and love to our world. Water has been both an ever present symbol and means of that life and love. As we learn, explore, experience and act – all about water – over these four weeks we are going to discover just how water is woven into the ecology of God’s life-giving creation. So take a deep breath and dive into the water of life with us!

Jacob's Well & the World Vision Mess
Tuesday Apr 15, 2014
Tuesday Apr 15, 2014
Jacob's Well has partnered with World Vision the last few years in addressing poverty around the world. Recently World Vision hit the news because they tried to change a hiring policy that discriminates against people in same sex relationships, but were forced to not change it. A discriminatory practice like that is a problem for us, but we value the great work World Vision is doing in 97 countries around the world. We also don't want to play the game some churches have been playing of pulling support dollars out over a disagreement like this because it makes poor people around the world pay for it. On Sunday morning, April 13, Pastor Greg Meyer opened up the conversation so we could wrestle with this together. Listen in, share this with others, and join in the healthy discussion.

April 13: Real & Ideal Work
Sunday Apr 13, 2014
Sunday Apr 13, 2014
Ideally you wouldn’t have to work, right? But really, you have no choice. That may be how we feel, but it isn’t the way work really or ideally works – so to speak. Work is more than a job; it’s a career, it’s your “doing” in the world. Work is a way of making a contribution and of creating the world you live in. Work is also hard, tiring, never ending and the source of a lot of frustration. Have you made peace with the work in your life? Do you know what your real ‘work’ is and why it matters? Let’s work on that.

April 6: Real & Ideal Spirituality
Sunday Apr 06, 2014
Sunday Apr 06, 2014
What is a perfect Christian, yogi, monk or whoever? Something about that ideal seems so other worldly that I don’t really want to be it and know I would never make it anyway. My life is sooo compromised with the reality of day-to-day stuff that being spiritual hardly makes it on the ‘to do’ list. But maybe the problem isn’t us, maybe it’s our idea of ‘spirituality’. We welcome author, jingle-writer, FreeBikes4Kids (fb4k.com) founder & longtime Jacob’s Well friend, Terry Esau to give us a brand new picture.
