Godflix 2: Selma - 08.16.2015

Godflix 2 - Selma (August 16): Selma
is the story of a movement of people, led by Martin Luther King Jr., who
believed that love and dignity is not just for some. Through the
discipline of nonviolence, the stories of liberation and love in the
Bible, and a patient and active hope, mountains were moved. How can we
as Jacob’s Well keep moving those mountains of racism and
misunderstanding? Let’s work at it together.

Godflix 1: The Imitation Game - 08.09.2015

Godflix 1 - The Imitation Game (August 9): One of my favorite JW-isms is "God doesn't play games." This powerful movie about the life of WWII code-breaker Alan Turing made me think maybe God does play a game, a very different game and plays it wholeheartedly. Not only are we all invited to play, but it is urgent that we do so. What if we stopped playing our imitation games and went all in on the game we are made for? Rent it at Redbox or stream on-line. But don't worry if you haven't seen it before Sunday. I'll fill you in without spoiling it for you! Tim Frantzich will be leading music this Sunday, and he even wrote a song to go along with the message...don't miss it! ~MelissaMore resources to Sunday's message, including the outline, can be found at www.jacobs-well.net/leftovers

God: Cosmic Enforcer or Composer? - 08.02.2015
Sunday Aug 02, 2015
Sunday Aug 02, 2015
Have you ever noticed the mismatch between the idea of God creating a universe of overwhelming variety and expanse being the same God who is preoccupied with telling you what you can do and can't do? Well, a lot of your friends and neighbors have and it's partly why they don't have the time of day for God. This message digs into the God of Possibilities because it just makes more sense and because we need them! And frankly it's what the Bible shows us. This message by Pastor Greg Meyer was recorded at an outdoor service at Minnehaha Falls.

She’ll help us explore how our understanding of God helps us love the bodies we live in, and how our amazing bodies can help us connect to our deepest wisest selves. You can find more resources, including the Outline to the message at www.jacobs-well.net/leftovers. Incurably Passionate about Integrity - 07.19.2015
Sunday Jul 19, 2015
Sunday Jul 19, 2015
The idea that our lives should revolve around just one thing is an illusion, life is too complicated for that, but that everything should be part of a larger picture is essential. Integrity says that all things tie together, somewhere deep, somewhere meaningful, even if you never quite get there. You’ve felt this – the angst when it doesn’t, the peace when it does. I’m incurably passionate about finding integrity for myself, leading others towards it, and discovering it in the world around us. Let’s look deeper. ~Greg MeyerFor the video shown during the message of the self-destructing washing machine click HERE.You can find more resources, including the Outline to the message at www.jacobs-well.net/leftovers

It’s a big and beautiful world, and every part of it has a song to sing figuratively and literally. Through experience, story, and science, we as human beings are learning about how our actions add to the harmony or the discord of creation’s symphony. How do we live in a way that allows for all of the earth to live well? What might God have to say about it? We’re glad you’re here to question, act, and sing with us! ~Mike RusertMore resources to Sunday's message, including the outline, can be found at www.jacobs-well.net/leftovers

m&m begins - 06.21.2015
Sunday Jun 21, 2015
Sunday Jun 21, 2015
m&m begins (June 21) There are over seven billion people on this planet, but there is only one you. What makes you so special isn’t that you are greater, better, faster, smarter… but simply that you are different. That’s important because it means that you are particularly shaped to make a contribution no one else can make. For two weeks, starting on June 21, we are going to discover how that shapes who we are as a church and what we do in the world. It’s your m&m. It makes life more fun and the world a better place. Dirt 4: Engaged! "The Good Soil" - 06.07.2015
Sunday Jun 07, 2015
Sunday Jun 07, 2015
Engaged! The Good Soil (June 7) In Jesus' parable of the sower, seeds can only take root in good soil. You are good soil! Your soil is the part of you where your faith isn't in the way, but really matters and helps you to grow. There is no magic formula for this, but today we'll dig into the characteristics of this faith that we do know, and talk about how to engage in the world to let your soil bear fruit.Find more resources at www.jacobs-well.net/leftovers.
