New Grooves 2: The New Groove
Sunday Jan 15, 2017
Sunday Jan 15, 2017
The New Groove - If you were with us last week you saw Chloe baptized. It was a figurative ‘crossing of the river’ for her into a new life; or perhaps a life of newness. We all need that. We need lives that don’t rely so much on ‘what was,’ or ‘what is’ that they can’t be unmade to be remade for the new groove of ‘what’s next.’ Israel faced that new groove long ago and there is a great story about it in Deuteronomy 8. Let’s take a look at what happened then, and at what’s happening now and see if there isn’t something to learn.

New Grooves 1: Switching Grooves
Monday Jan 09, 2017
Monday Jan 09, 2017
Switching Grooves (January 8th) – It would be nice to ‘find your groove’ and settle into it, but that’s not what happens. Instead we search for our groove and just when we think we’ve got it… Boom. Everything changes. It’s not just us, way back a couple 1000 years ago Israel had its epic experience wandering through the wilderness, finally arriving on the front step of their destination only to discover it was a whole new ballgame. They were switching grooves. They experienced stuff we need to learn. Get ready to switch grooves!

God? Get Real 4: Is There Room for Wonder?
Monday Dec 19, 2016
Monday Dec 19, 2016
Is There Room for Wonder? Luke’s Christmas story in the Bible ends by telling us Mary treasured the words of the shepherds and pondered them in her heart. That is a bible-sort-of-way of saying, “What the h@// is going on?!?” She was wondering. Wonder is good. It invites our heads to go where our hearts already are. But is it real? All I know is that I don’t think I’d want to live in a world without wonder. Today we will experience our time together with a little wonder; kind of like our kids do.
A short excerpt of our Middle School leading us on our writing prompt of "I wonder..." is included. If you do some writing, share it with us with Facebook or email.
You can find the "Murmuration" video at this LINK. Watch it. It's worth it!

God? Get Real 3: If God's Not Real, Is It Me?
Sunday Dec 11, 2016
Sunday Dec 11, 2016
If God’s Not Real, Is It Me? Despite what some may claim, there is nothing anyone can point at or say that simply proves once and for all that God exists. God gets real not by being a fiery idol on a mountain top, but through our eyes seeing God in the world around us, and our lives manifesting God’s presence in the world. Which begs the question, “Whose fault is it that God doesn’t feel real?” Ok, it’s not about fault, but what if God has done God’s part and now it’s our turn. Hmm…
