Hearing Voices: My Name Is Not "Those People"
A week with Julia Dinsmore. Julia has stirred her listeners for years by giving voice to her experience and the experience of many others who have been voiceless and nameless. Her credentials as a poet, storyteller, singer/songwriter, and a poverty abolitionist across the country are strong, but what is important is her ability to draw us out of our closed off worlds and into a new space in which we see, hear and value one another.
To learn more about Julia and her work around equity, classism and all the other -isms, read her book, My Name is Child of God... Not "Those People": A First Person Look at Poverty, Julia K. Dinsmore, Augsburg/Fortress Press, 2007. To learn more about Julia's talk with our community, or for other resources relating to "Hearing Voices" contact us at info@fabricmpls.com
