Life happens and crises come no matter what you do or who you are. You won’t stop that, but… you can build care strength and resilience into your life and relationships. Melissa Lock will join Greg Meyer, and Katy Lesiak will field your text questions, as we explore the proactive side of your CareIQ. Why wait for the crisis? There are steps we can take as a community and individuals to help us be better caregivers and receivers and that will help plant the seeds of healthy care in the world.

CareIQ 3: Practice Makes...Experience 2016.10.23
Monday Oct 24, 2016
Monday Oct 24, 2016
Jacob’s Well-er Chris Lillehei is a hospital chaplain dealing with people everyday in situations that most of us dread ever having to be in. And he likes it! When you give up on fixing everyone’s problems, and learn how to be with people without riding the roller coaster of their emotions you find that you can make a difference. Someone needs to, after all, people are hurting. Chris and his wife Jenny, a mental health professional, helped us practice using our toolboxes this past week. Practice doesn’t make perfect, but it does put some experience under our belts.

CareIQ 2: The Toolbox 2016.10.16
Monday Oct 17, 2016
Monday Oct 17, 2016
October 16 – The Toolbox “I never saw it coming! I thought I was being the friend I needed to be and it all blew up in my face. I have no idea what to do.” Sometimes care goes that way. What seems like the right thing to do doesn’t work, and what you do need to do feels strange and counterintuitive. Kristina Swanberg of Mental Health Connect joined Greg to talk about why we need a CareIQ Toolbox and what’s in it. It’s a way of putting a God-sized vision of compassion into our action.

CAREIQ - Why You Need to Raise Yours Stuff happens to us and the people around us. Stuff we can’t fix. So what should we do? As a community that values deep relationships we need to learn how to care and be cared for in these tough situations. God calls us to it, Jesus modeled it, but that doesn’t make it easy. So welcome as we dig into our first of four weeks helping you understand what it means to raise your Care IQ.
