In Love - 3: In the Dust
Sunday Feb 28, 2016
Sunday Feb 28, 2016
“Love is patient, love is kind…” What does it mean to be patient in love? Are we supposed to put up with injustice and wallow in our suffering? Or, can we practice allowing the other person to be just as they are, extend them acceptance, and stay with them when times are tough? This week we’ll be learning how to build our capacity to linger and listen to those we love, instead of rushing to fix or solve.

In Love - 2: In the Whale

“In Love…” we do certain things, and we don’t do some other things. One thing to do is compassion. It’s not just feeling sorry, it is something deeper, something that tugs at our insides and leads us to action. Compassion weaves us together and makes the world a better place. That doesn’t mean it’s easy. It’s worth pausing and taking a look at what compassion is and how we grow our capacity for it. Human Race - 3: Your Freedom & Your Hope
Sunday Feb 07, 2016
Sunday Feb 07, 2016
Your Freedom & Your Hope Much must be done by the advantaged to resolve the issue of race, but as long as the privileged see it as something they are doing for others it will ultimately fail. This isn’t the revolution of ‘them,’ it is the revolution of ‘us.’ God has given us a vision of being THE people of God… together. This is not downsizing of some for the upsizing of others, it is a new vision of humanity that upsizes all of us in ways that matter. Are you stuck on guilt, frustration, worry and anger, or do you see and feel the new vision?Did you know we have started our February Giving Challenge? Human Race - 2: Are You Non-Racist or Anti-Racist?
Sunday Jan 31, 2016
Sunday Jan 31, 2016
The controversy of race is too important for any of us to stand on the sidelines. There are no spectators, only participants. So how do you participate? God was pretty clear that we are one people, and that God’s way of helping us be one was to get involved in a messy, risky, even sacrificial way. We call it Jesus. Once again this week we aren’t going to try to solve the problem of race, or make you feel guilty or justified, just involved.
